At 6.0 mm, the pen lays down broad, flat blocks of color suited to poster-sized lettering, large display typography, and abstract or sign-painting style calligraphy work. Turning the pen onto its side edge switches it to a 0.5 mm line, which lets you add fine guidelines or detail work using the same pen rather than switching tools. It ships with a nib-cleaning sheet and a flush suction bulb for maintenance, and is fitted with a blue screw-on cap matching the internal section. For finer lettering work, the Pilot Parallel 3.8 mm uses the same nib system at a narrower stroke width.
