The Krink K-63 shares the same 60ml squeezable body and 20mm mohair nib format as the K-60 but runs on ultra-fluid alcohol-based dye ink rather than thick paint. The distinction matters practically — where the K-60 sits on the surface with opaque coverage, the K-63 ink sinks into porous substrates fast, leaving a deep, glossy semi-translucent black with permanent bleed characteristics. Drying speed is significantly faster than the paint version, making it the better choice for rapid script execution, fluid calligraphy, and filling large dark graphic blocks where speed and ink depth matter more than total opacity.

Well suited for high-density sketchbooks, treated cardboard, wood panels, glass, and smooth plastic. The mohair nib handles heavy drawing friction across sessions. Handmade in the USA.

Common Questions

  • What is the practical difference between the K-60 and K-63? The K-60 uses thick pigmented paint — fully opaque, weather-proof, sits on the surface. The K-63 uses fluid dye-based ink — semi-translucent, faster drying, bleeds into porous surfaces for a deeper, glossier black. The K-60 is the choice for coverage and outdoor use; the K-63 is the choice for speed, fluid script, and ink depth on indoor surfaces.
  • Does the K-63 bleed through sketchbook paper? On standard lightweight sketchbook paper the alcohol-based ink will bleed through — high-density sketchbook paper or treated surfaces are recommended for controlled results without show-through.
